The inauguration of the Leyla Gencer Museum was held on the 2nd floor of Istanbul Foundation for culture and Arts’ headquarters. Pier Luigi Pizzi reconstructed there the apartment where Gencer lived in Milan, (in Viale Majno 17A): the rooms, furnishing, the objects as she arranged them, books, documents.

In 2015 all these materials, which she donated to the
Foundation were transferred to the Leyla Gencer Culture and Arts Centre
operated by the Municipality of Bakırköy.
