Nous avons reçu Votre lettre du 13 de ce mois avant trait a la nouvelle tournée en notre pays de Leyla Gencer, chanteuse d’opéra.
Madame Gencer a remporté des succès a Beograd et nous nous efforcerons d’accéder a son désir de chanter de nouveau a Beograd combiné les tournées des chanteurs d’Opera. En novembre nous avons déjà Rosvenghe, de Vienna, et du célèbre ténor Jusi Björling, de Stockholm. Pour cela, l’arrivée de madame Gencer nous conviendrait particulièrement en février 1955. Nous prévoyons que nous réussirons à organiser sa participation dans plusieurs villes, ou elle chanterait de préférence Aida et La Tosca.
Comme nous concluons les tournées des artistes étrangers, en majorité, sur la base de l’échange, nous désirerions assujettir prions d’expliquer a l’artiste cette particularité et de la prier de s’efforcer de placer le dirigeant de Ljubljana, Samo Hubad a diriger au moins deux représentation à L’Opera d’Ankara. Samo Hubad est un excellent dirigeant d’opéra, chef d’orchestre symphonique également, et a remporté de grands succès. Nous tenons beaucoup à ce que Samo Hubad fasse sa tournée en Turquie et nous considérons que cet échange avec Leyla Gencer est une bonne solution, car elle aura ainsi un accès certain à l’opéra de Ljubljana. Le dirigeant Hubad a un grand répertoire d’opéras et a ce point de vue il n’y aura pas de difficultés. Il suffit seulement de nous faire connaitre les opéras qui se trouvent actuellement au répertoire a l’opéra d’Ankara.
Nous Vous prions de communiquer au plus tôt notre proposition à Madame Gencer, afin que nous vous ayons la possibilité de combiner avec elle, pour février 1955, sa participation dans un grand nombre de représentation d’opéra. Les conditions qui seront faites, à Madame Gencer a cette nouvelle occasion dépendent des conditions qui pourront être faites a Samo Hubard à Ankara.

We received Your
letter of the 13th of this month before it relates to the new tour in our
country of Leyla Gencer, opera singer. Mrs. Gencer has had success in Belgrade, and we will endeavor to accede to
her desire to sing again in Beograd combined with the tours of Opera singers.
In November we already have Rosvenghe, from Vienna, and the famous tenor Jusi
Björling, from Stockholm. For this, the arrival of Mrs. Gencer would suit us
particularly in February 1955. We anticipate that we will succeed in organizing
her participation in several cities, where she would preferably sing Aida and
La Tosca.
As we conclude the tours of foreign artists, mostly, on the basis of
exchange, we would like to request that the artist be explained this
peculiarity and be asked to endeavor to place the leader of Ljubljana, Samo
Hubad to conduct at least two performances at the Ankara Opera. Samo Hubad is
an excellent opera conductor, symphony conductor as well, and has achieved
great success. We are very keen for Samo Hubad to tour Turkey, and we consider
this exchange with Leyla Gencer to be a good solution, as she will thus have
certain access to the Ljubljana opera house. Ruler Hubad has a large repertoire
of operas and from this point of view there will be no difficulties. It is
enough only to let us know the operas that are currently in the repertoire at
the Ankara Opera.
We ask you to communicate our proposal to Madame Gencer as soon as
possible, so that we have the possibility of combining with her, for February
1955, her participation in a large number of opera performances. The conditions
that will be made to Mrs. Gencer on this new occasion depend on the conditions
that can be made to Samo Hubard in Ankara.
